Guise of Moses, the Shepherd:

: : Pole weapon represents the staff of Moses who led his people from Egypt and across the Red Sea. The staff was the centerpiece in many amazing miracles and for thus learning the art of pole weapon tactics is imperative for a Brother to succeed as a Bad Habit.

In training with the pole weapon, we follow the tutelage of King David, a humble shepherd who became a master tactician and powerful warrior in the armies of the Cloth.

The sole purpose of all clergy is to shepherd the people under his watch to a more pure existence. Apart of the shepherd’s duty is to defend his flock from the harmful vises of the wolves of society, be they spiritual or mortal.

Guise of Gabriel, the Messenger:

: : The great sword represents the greatest purity of faith and unmoved determination to bring the word to even the deafest ears. The sword held aloft by the blade resembles the icon of our faith and thus, when spreading the good news, this mark is borne into the feeble minds of the impure, sending them scattering.

The use of the sword in educational transactions calls upon the Angels to deliver quick and painless tuition and the greatest of the Brothers who wields the sword becomes the avatar of Gabriel himself, transposing himself from the mortal to the immortal. No other honor in the Brotherhood is greater.
